Lifesaving Skills: The UA BWB team completed a first aid training course.

Last month, the UA Brokers Without Borders team completed a basic first aid course provided by Ukrainian Premedical Trauma Care (Ukrainian School of Rescue).

This important training became possible thanks to our partners — NGO Divchata and with the support of CARE Ukraine.

During the training, we practiced the M.A.R.C.H algorithm — the foundation of trauma first aid. We learned how to:

🩸 Stop massive bleeding — apply tourniquets, pack wounds, and use pressure dressings.

👃 Ensure airway patency — open airways and assist in cases of obstruction.

🫁 Respond to pneumothorax — recognize open and tension pneumothorax and provide appropriate care.

❤️ Stabilize the patient during shock and internal bleeding.

🧊 Prevent hypothermia and provide assistance for head injuries, fractures, and burns.

First aid skills are more than just knowledge — they are a real chance to save a life when every minute counts.
